Dalvin Cook

Where does Dalvin Cook’s 2023 salary rank vs. other NFL backs?

Dalvin Cook’s reported $7 million guaranteed deal with the New York Jets would place him in 9th among all running backs this season for average salaries.

James Conner of the Arizona Cardinals is the other ballcarrier sharing that ninth place spot.

Not a bad score for the Jets, given that Cook has been a Top 3 back, at worst, the past four seasons.

The reported deal puts him just below Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants, Josh Jacobs of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Tony Pollard of the Dallas Cowboys at $10.091 million.

Top 5 average salaries for RBs

  • Christian McCaffrey – San Francisco 49ers ($16.015 million)
  • Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints ($15 million)
  • Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans ($12.5 million)
  • Nick Chubb – Cleveland Browns ($12.2 million)
  • Aaron Jones – Green Bay Packers ($12 million)

Cook (28 years old) is entering his 7th NFL season and coming off a down year (only by HIS standards) in 2022.

He played with a separated shoulder partway through the year and underwent surgery.

He’s expected to be cleared to practice next week.

The signing reunites Cook with TE Tyler Conklin, who spent his career with Minnesota before joining the Jets last season.

He’s be taking handoffs from longtime division rival Aaron Rodgers, who also jettisoned the NFC this summer to become a Jet.
