MVP Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, reportedly agrees to a 4-year/$200 million contract with the Green Bay Packers. This would make Mr. Rodgers the highest paid player in NFL history at $50 million/year. This contract includes over $150 million in guaranteed money.
This new contract and potential franchise tag on Davante Adams should have the Packers as an early Super Bowl favorite.
Jordan Love was drafted 26th overall by the Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was seen as the heir apparent to Rodgers, but now with an additional 4 years this plan seems to be in jeopardy. Love should garner a lot of trade interest from NFL teams in need of a quarterback (Carolina, Denver, Detroit, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Washington, etc.). This should make for an interesting 2022 NFL Draft trade scenario.
