Raiders Free Agency: additions to Offense and Defense

The Las Vegas Raiders have started out swinging on Day 1 of the new NFL season. Below is a list of their acquisitions.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo – Garoppolo has played with Josh McDaniels before early in his career as a New Emgland Patriot.  In doing so, it gives the offense  a proven starter with experience running his sometimes complex system; 3 -year,  72.75 million deal reported (NFL.com)

S Marcus Epps – former Eagles defensive back, fills a need in a much-needed depth; the Raiders were last in takeaways in 2022; 2-year, 12 million reported.

The Raiders have also resigned running back Ameer Abdullah and franchised tagged Josh Jacobs.  They still have over $40 million in cap space available.

What remains to be seen: Will the Raiders use their No. 7 Overall Pick for a quarterback and make Garoppolo the place holder?
