Braxton Berrios

Pro Football Focus grades for Miami Dolphins 2024 free agents

The Miami Dolphins have a long list of players set to become free agents this offseason, including some of their top players on both lines of scrimmage.  Here’s the full list, as well as their Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades for 2023.

Running back

Salvon Ahmed (Grade: 61 on 135 total snaps)

Wide Receiver

Braxton Berrios (Grade: 57.6 on 469 snaps)
Robbie Chosen (Grade: 64.5 on 135 snaps)
Chase Claypool (Grade: 55.1 on 198 snaps)
River Cracraft: (Grade: 66.7 on 208 snaps)
Cedrick Wilson, Jr (Grade: 65.3 on 583 snaps)

Summary: Chosen’s grade was inflated by a garbage time deep ball TD in the first month of the season.  Wilson is the best of the bunch here but will likely find a new home after being signed to a significant deal and then leapfrogged by Waddle, Hill and Co.)

Tight end

Tyler Kroft (Grade: 56 on 43 snaps)

Offensive line

Jonotthan Harrison (Grade: 57.1 on 9 snaps)
Robert Jones (RFA) (Grade: 57.6 on 479 snaps)
Kendall Lamm: (Grade: 64.3 on 613 snaps)
Connor Williams:  (Grade 86.5 on 497 snaps)

Isaiah Wynn: (Grade: 47 on 392 snaps)

Summary:  Williams was the league’s best center in 2024 before his injury and will command a heavy payday if the Dolphins don’t lock him up on a new deal or tag him. Lamm played well (43rd of 83 tackles in pass protection) in 2023 and the Dolphins may be hard-pressed to keep him for another bargain $1 million deal.

Defensive line

Raekwon Davis:  (Grade 57.5 on 531 snaps)
Da’Shawn Hand: ( Grade: 85 on 219 snaps)
Christian Wilkins: (Grade: 71.8 on 966 snaps)

Summary:  Wilkins stands to be among the most coveted NFL free agents if he doesn’t get tagged by Miami in 2024. Davis will be looking for a bounce-back year after a difficult 2023.   Hand has flashed in limited action.

Justin Houston (Grade: 63.7 on 199 snaps)
Melvin Ingram Grade 53 on 150 snaps)
Bruce Irvin (Grade: 35 on 54 snaps)
Calvin Munson  (Grade: 73 on 23 snaps)
Andrew Van Ginkel (Grade: 91 on 726 snaps)

Summary: Van Ginkel was HIM in 2023 as a rotational defender, racking up his share of splash plays.  It may be the end of the line for Houston, Ingram and Irvin.

Eli Apple (Grade: 51.4 on 624)
Justin Bethel (Grade: 67.6 on 126 snaps)
Elijah Campbell (RFA) (Grade: 56 on 141 snaps)
Nik Needham:  (Grade: 50 on 73 snaps)

Miami’s best corners are all under contract to return in 2024.

DeShon Elliott (grade: 67.6 on 987 snaps)
Brandon Jones: (Grade: 75.4 on 542 snaps)

Summary:  Elliott will likely have suitors in 2024 if he doesn’t get a deal locked up to return with Miami.  The latter is possible.

Special Teams

Jake Bailey, punter (Grade: 69.6)
