The NFL officially filed an appeal on Wednesday. The NFL is seeking indefinite banishment for at least one year, with the possibility of conditional reinstatement. The NFL is also looking for a significant monetary fine.
More facts on the appeal, background and what it means:— Any response to the appeal by the NFLPA must be filed in writing within two business days. — Commissioner or his designee will issue a written decision that will constitute final disposition of the dispute and is binding https://t.co/QMOBTDHKUj— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 3, 2022

An interesting side piece is that there is a possibility that Deshaun Watson could be on the field for week 1. This would come if the NFLPA goes to federal court over an increased NFL suspension. The NFLPA would seek a temporary restraining order, and the question then would be when this restraining order would kick in.
