Baker Mayfield was finally granted his wish to leave the Cleveland Browns.
The Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns agreed in terms to trade Mayfield for a conditional 5th round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. This pick has the potential to become a 4th rounder though.
A new QB in Carolina: The #Panthers are acquiring former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield from the #Browns for a 2024 conditional 5th-round draft pick, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Mayfield was drafted 1st overall in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Browns. He will be joining Sam Darnold, who was drafted by the Jets as the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 Draft.
The Panthers traded for Darnold in early 2021. That trade saw the Panthers send 6th round pick (2021), 2nd and 4th round picks (2022).
Things will now get interesting in Carolina with 2 of the top 3 picks from the 2018 draft.
