Josh Jacobs

Four burning questions facing the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason (besides Derek Carr)

Raiders offseason questions

2022 was a disappointment for the Las Vegas Raiders.  Huge decisions await for the organization in the 2023 off season.  As the team looks to move on from quarterback Derek Carr after almost a decade, their may be several other players the Silver and Black may be interested in resigning who are free agents this off season.

  1. RB Josh Jacobs – This might be a no-brainer.  Jacobs lead the NFL in rushing in 2022 and if healthy has been one of the best backs since entering the league in 2019.  The Raiders could franchise tag him, but it would come at a hefty price.
  2. DE Clelin Ferrell – In the same draft class as Jacobs, Ferrell numbers haven’t been as impressive.  However, his quarterback hurries were consistent during the season and made several contributing plays in a win against the playoff bound Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13.
  3. C Hroniss Grasu – Grasu started 4 games at Center in 2022 for the injured Andre James.  It may be important to have a capable back up for 2023.
  4. QB Jarrett Stidham – The biggest answer for the Raiders in 2023 is who will replace Derek Carr. They may have already found the answer.  Stidham performed comfortably in both the preseason of 2022 and the last two games of the season.  He seemed to have developed a repour with star receiver Davante Adams as well.

In 2021, interim head coach Rich Bisaccia got the best out the Raiders players en-route to a playoff season.  Now head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler looked to rebound in their 2nd season and do the same with talent on their roster and their ability to resign the right players for 2023 and beyond.
