First let’s take a look at some of Derek Carr’s rankings from the 2021 season.
Carr targeted Hunter Renfrow 128 times which resulted in 103 receptions (80.5 catch %) and 9 TDs. Second on the list for Carr was Darren Waller, who was targeted 93 times which resulted in 55 receptions (59.1 catch %) and 2 TDs. After Waller, the list goes as follows: Zay Jones (47/70, 546 yds, 1 TD), Josh Jacobs (54/64, 348 yds, 0 TD), and Bryan Edwards (34/59, 571 yds, 3 TDs).
During the off-season the Raiders added 2x All-Pro and 5x Pro Bowler, Davante Adams. The 2021 season saw Adams haul in 123 receptions for 1553 yards and 11 TDs.
Last season the Raiders were the 4th most pass heavy team at 62.88% of plays.
Opinion: I don’t see how Carr’s numbers can’t increase with the addition of Davante Adams. The Raiders will now boast one of the best receiving corps in the NFL. I’m expecting Carr to pass for more yards (5000+) and TDs (30+) which will boost his fantasy value into a Top 10 QB if not a Top 5 QB in 2022.
