The Las Vegas Raiders have fallen to 1-4 entering the bye week and has had inconsistency from their wide receiver corps, including All-Pro acquisition, Davante Adams. One question Raider’s fans may be asking is, “Does Derek Carr miss Zay Jones?” Wide Receiver Jones left in free agency to join the Jacksonville Jaguars this past offseason.
Last season, the Raiders went 10-7, earning a playoff berth. A huge part of that was the clutch play from Jones when needed most. Jones caught the game winning touchdown in overtime during the Raiders Week 1 overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens. He also led the team in receiving in Week 15 and Week 17 during the Raiders playoff push. More importantly Jones caught several crucial passes late in games and was reliable target for Carr.
This season the Raiders have yet to have consistency nor clutch catching from Adams, Hunter Renfroe and Darren Waller.
Although injured, both Renfroe and Waller have yet to play consistently in the games they have started.
Adams has played well in moments but also has been double and triple teamed.
Meanwhile in Jacksonville, Jones is on target to surpass 2021 season totals in catches, yards, and touchdowns
