Dissly does it: Seattle tight end leads league in catch rate

Seven weeks into the NFL season, Seattle Seahawks Tight End Will Dissly is catching almost everything thrown his way.

Among receivers with as least 20 targets, Dissly ranks first with a 95% catch rate, advanced stats show.

In fact, he’s the only player among that group with a 90% rate or better.

Dissly’s 19 catches this year have him on track to set a new season mark for yardage. He has 194 yards on the year, after never previously racking up for than 262 yards in a season.

Dissly’s career high 24 catches (2020) also appears to be in line to be topped – perhaps even this weekend.

Arizona Cardinals Receiver Greg Dortch is the league’s second most sure-handed pass-catcher through Week 7.

He’s caught 22 of 25 targets for a rate of more than 88%, while Atlanta WR Olamide Zaccheaus has caught more than 86% of his grabs.

Zaccheaus is also heading toward the likelihood of a career year as well, with his 302 yards just 100 yards short of his previous high – with 10 games left to play.

By comparison, Rondale Moore was the league’s most reliable pass-catcher in 2021 with a catch percentage just under 85%.
