James has been an impact player on a defense that is now filled with them – includimg Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa and JC Jackson.
But they havent all been on the football field on game day – yet.
James has been on a 14-day hold-in to help speed up his contract talks — mostly doing agility drills on his own.
James deal doesnt come without some risk.
He has missed 14 games over the past two seasons. (Most of them in 2020)
In February, he underwent his latest surgery to repair an injured labrum.
Prior to James new deal, Minkah Fitzpatrick ($18.2 million) was the NFL’s highest paid player.
Jamal Adams now slides to third at an average of $17.5 million.
