Five times in 2021 the Las Vegas Raiders asked kicker Daniel Carlson to line up for the game winning kick. He made all five. Last night the NFL season opened in Canton, OH with Las Vegas playing the Jacksonville Jaguars. Carlson made two field goals and all 3 extra-point attempts. One of those field goals was a 55 yard field goal on wet turf. Las Vegas won the game 27-11.
Carlson has lead the NFL in points the past two seasons. He lead the NFL in both field goals and field goal attempts a season ago. He was also voted AFC Special Teams player of the week 3 times in Week 12, Week 17, and Week 18. He also made 4 field goals in Las Vegas’ Playoff Game vs Cincinnati a year ago.
Carlson is entering his 5th year and 4th full year in Las Vegas. He should be a great pickup in fantasy football as well for many owners later in the draft. His consistency is an added attribute. In 4 years with Vegas he has a field goal percentage of 89.3%. In 2020, he was also named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month in December.
