One of the NFL’s best ball hawks is joining the competition.
James Bradberry is signing a one year $10 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, meaning he he’ll now face the New York Giants twice in 2022.
NFL.com reported the move.
Bradberry may not be an elite talent but some of the statistics he’s posted during his five year career show why the 6’1″ corner is so coveted
During his two years as a Giant, Bradberry had 7 interceptions and defended 35 passes.
His PD mark was 3rd in the NFL during those combined 2020 and 2021 seasons – behind just Xavien Howard (36) and JC Jackson (37),according to Pro Football Reference.
His PFF grade 62.8 last season was a significant drop off from the prior year (79.8) but he also hauled in 4 picks, 43 tackles with his 65% completion percentage allowed.
James Bradberry’s agent confirmed the 2020 Pro Bowler was going to be a designated a post-June 1 cut.
The Giants are dropping him in a cost-cutting move. Cutting Bradburry will free up $10 million from their tight cap in 2021.
Without the move, the Giants have just $5.5 million in space with a deep rookie class to sign.
