Baylor’s Pro Day takes place today at 12:30 PM CST (1:30 PM EST) and it will feature some of the fastest 2022 Draft prospects.
Kalon Barnes, DB, ran the fastest 40 time (4.23 sec) at the Combine this year. This was the fastest 40 time ever recorded for a defensive back at the Combine. It is also the 2nd fastest 40 time on record from the Combine.
Tyquan Thornton, WR, ran the 3rd fastest 40 time (4.28 sec) at the Combine this year. Thornton was the fastest receiver at the Combine this year, and his 40 time is 2nd all time for WR behind John Ross (4.22 sec)
Earlier before the Combine, Thornton was widely considered a Day 3 prospect. His Combine results have moved him up to the Day 2 conversations. A good Pro Day could move his Draft stock even higher.
JT Woods, S, ran the 13th fastest 40 time (4.36 sec) and 4th fastest out of Safeties at the Combine. Currently Woods is considered a Day 4 prospect, but he could move up with improved results today.
Jalen Pitre, CB/S, did not run the 40-yard dash at the Combine this year. Pitre is considered Baylor’s best Draft prospect this year that will likely go in the 1st or 2nd round. He is a versatile Safety that could step right in and cover in the slot. Pitre also excels at run defense, and will get a lot of looks from most NFL teams.
