Ojulari

Analyst: Giants Ojulari primed for Pro Bowl in 2022

Linebacker Azeez Ojulari’s had a simmering start to his rookie season, racking up a sack in each of his first three games.

One NFL analyst envisions a Pro Bowl in year two.

NFL.com’s Nick Shook projected it, citing the addition of Don “Wink” Martindale and a potential blue chip talent opposite him in Kayvon Thibodeaux.

“Ojulari stormed out of the gate in his first season, recording a sack in each of his first three games, and set a new single-game, career-high mark with 2.5 sacks in New York’s week 7 win over Carolina, ” he wrote.

Ojulari had 8 sacks on the year alongside 27 pressures and four knockdowns.

But he cooled off in the second half, logging just 2 1/2 sacks over that span – a second-half slowdown that is often common for rookies.

As Shook noted, Thibodeaux’s presence should make the going “a little easier.”

And Martindale is known for finding creative ways to generate heat – a system Ojulari could thrive in.
