Leonard “Lombardi Lenny” Fournette to Free Agency
NFL insiders have confirmed Leonard Fournette will be released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when the new league year begins in March 15.
Fournette was drafted by the Jaguars but revived his career as a Tom Brady favorite.
He had more than 1,250 all purpose yards and 8 touchdowns in 2021 before last year’s injury-plagued season in Tampa.
Fournette is still just 28 years old and likely has plenty of wear left on the tires after splitting carries, timeshare-style over the second half of his career.
Fournette had a 74 Pro Football Focus grade in 2021 that dipped to 68 last season.
Fournette doesn’t have the same top flight appeal as the likes of Josh Jacobs but he’ll clock in as our 4th best running back among our Top 25 free agents.
